But once you get the waterproofing sorted, you hit a bigger problem: the light. Standard short-wave infrared lamps are bright. Like, really bright. If you’ve ever looked at one, you know it’s a harsh glare that makes you squint. Now, imagine a baby in a bath with eyes that aren’t fully developed yet. That kind of light isn’t just annoying—it’s a problem. The trick to fixing the glare We don’t just hope for the best; we use specific coatings on the quartz tubes. Think of it like a pair of sunglasses for the heater. These coatings filter out the blinding visible light but let the actual heat pass right through. So, you feel that cozy warmth on your skin, but the room doesn’t feel like a surgical ward. It’s not about making it look pretty. It’s about making sure nobody is straining their eyes or risking retina damage while they’re trying to relax. The struggle with seals and heat Here is the tricky part. To keep water out, you need a tight seal—usually tempered glass and heavy-duty silicone gaskets. But when you seal a heater that tight, you essentially create a heat trap.
