Introduction
We built this wall-mounted indoor heater to bring you warmth, straight-up, without taking up space. It uses an infrared halogen lamp to give you that instant, focused heat. And the whole thing stays slim and clean, so it fits right in with modern interiors. The big challenge? Making sure it packs a punch while staying safe—especially in places like bathrooms and family rooms where safety really matters.
What Makes It Tick
It runs on standard mains voltage, so wiring it up is straightforward. No need for special transformers. The lamp throws out intense infrared heat, focused into a tight path so the whole unit stays compact. That design means you get a lot of heat in a small space, right where you need it. So you can warm a specific spot without wasting energy heating the whole room. But here’s the catch: heat has to go somewhere. Packing high wattage into a small package means the fixture has to manage the heat through its housing and airflow. If you’re mounting it in an enclosed area, make sure there’s enough clearance and ventilation. Otherwise, the driver and lamp run hotter than they should, and that shortens their lifespan.
The Materials and the Details
Inside, we use a halogen infrared lamp in a quartz envelope. It handles high filament temperatures and gives you steady, reliable output over time. We also added a protective coating and tuned the spectrum to filter out the harsh visible light. That keeps the glow soft and easy on the eyes—a big deal when you’re using it in a bathroom where babies and little ones are around. Installation is simple, too. We went with an R7s base. It holds the lamp securely, handles the current, and makes replacing the tube quick and painless. The wall-mount housing is shaped to shield the lamp and push the heat forward, so you feel the warmth exactly where you aim it.
How It Feels in Real Life
This thing is a no-fuss solution for spot heating—bathrooms, entryways, small living areas. It warms objects and your skin directly, so you feel the heat almost instantly instead of waiting for the air to slowly warm up. The low-glare output makes it comfortable for close quarters, and the wall-mount design keeps your floor space clear. Just keep a couple of things in mind: keep the lamp clean, follow the clearance rules, and match the wattage to the size of the room. Do that, and you get dependable, targeted warmth with hardly any fuss.
