Why we went modular
We got tired of seeing that happen, so we changed how we build our infrared modules. Instead of hard-wiring everything into one big, permanent chassis, we went with a plug-and-play setup. Now, if a tube gives out five years down the road, you don’t have to rewire the whole unit. You just pull the dead module out and drop a new one in. It turns a complex electrical repair into a simple swap. Your technician spends minutes on that lift, not hours.
The heat struggle
Here’s the thing about high ceilings: you need serious wattage to get the heat from the ceiling down to the floor. Because we spec these units for maximum heat density, those tubes run hot. Really hot. But you have to be smart about airflow. If you cram too many high-wattage modules together without enough breathing room, you’ll overheat the housing. We always suggest leaving a specific gap between modules so the reflectors don’t bake themselves.
Dealing with the real world
Industrial plants are brutal. Between the dust, the constant vibration, and the temperature swings, connections just wear out. We ditched soldered joints for standardized modular connectors. Why? Because solder cracks over time. Connectors don’t. When it comes time for that 5-year checkup, you can test every single element without tearing the whole array apart. Swap the dead tubes, check the voltage at the interface, and you’re back in business. Simple as that.
